2026 CL Morris Healthcare Management and Administration Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st 4pm EST Background: The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the legacy of CL Morris and contribute to the development of future leaders for the Hancock Health network. The CL Morris Healthcare Management and Administration Scholarship established through the Hancock Health Foundation provides financial assistance for Hancock Health associates who demonstrate leadership potential and enroll in a post-secondary or graduate academic program leading to a B.S. or M.S. degree in Healthcare Management or Administration. The scholarship honors CL Morris’ 16 years of service as Hancock Health’s administrator from 1960 through 1976 and assists in identifying and developing future leaders to serve the health network’s patients, associates, medical staff, and the community at large. Eligibility:

  •  A $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a current full or part-time associate of Hancock Health with a minimum of one year work experience within the Hancock Health network at the time of application. 
  •  Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and their ability to succeed in a post-secondary or graduate level academic program. 
  • Two letters of reference (dated 2025 or 2026) are required from persons not related to you. One letter must be from your direct supervisor or the director of your department at Hancock Health. If you have been in your academic program for at least one semester, one letter must be from an academic professional from your current program/school. If you are new to the program, you can instead include a letter from another healthcare or academic professional. If applicable, letters should be on official letterhead. All letters must be signed.  You are required to upload these letters below before your application may be submitted. 
  • Selection criteria include academic achievement, tenure and work performance at Hancock Health, and the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and the health network’s mission, vision, and values. 
  • A personal interview with the selection committee may be required. 
  • Applicants must be accepted into a B.S. or M.S. degree program in Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration offered by a college or university holding institutional and programmatic accreditation in Healthcare Management Education, preferably by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). 
  • The scholarship will be payable to the recipient’s college or university to offset the cost of tuition. 
  • Prior recipients of this scholarship may apply again.
